Terms and Conditions
The rules, in plain words.
Last updated: 4 November 2026
The short version
- Beacon helps you tell someone which auto you're in. It is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 112.
- If you're under 18, use Beacon with your parent's or guardian's permission.
- Keep your password to yourself, and don't misuse Beacon or other people's information.
- Reviews must be honest, and can't include anyone's phone number, address or number plate.
1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Beacon. By creating an account or using the Beacon website or app, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you're under 18, your parent or guardian must also agree to them for you.
2. Who can use Beacon
- Anyone 18 or over can create an account.
- If you're under 18, you confirm your parent or guardian knows you use Beacon and is okay with it. You say so by ticking the box when you sign up (or the first time you open your profile).
- Parents may use Beacon to look out for their own children. Beacon must not be used to track any other person without their knowledge, including another adult.
3. What Beacon does, and doesn't do
Beacon lets you log the auto you take, send the details to people you choose, share your ride live and send an SOS to your contacts.
- Beacon is not an emergency service. It does not contact the police, an ambulance or anyone other than the contacts you choose. If you're in danger, call 112.
- Beacon depends on your phone, its battery, your internet connection, GPS and apps like WhatsApp and SMS. If any of these fail, messages and live sharing may be late or may not arrive. Beacon tells you when it notices a problem, but can't always know.
- Beacon doesn't check, approve or guarantee any auto, driver or route.
- Beacon is in early access. Features may change, and things may sometimes break while we improve them.
4. Your account
- Give true details when you sign up, and keep them up to date.
- Keep your password private and don't share your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- You can delete your account at any time from the log in page.
5. Rules for using Beacon
Don't:
- Use Beacon to stalk, harass, threaten or harm anyone, or to track someone without their knowledge.
- Share anyone's personal details, phone number, address or number plate in a review or anywhere public.
- Pretend to be someone else, or sign up for someone else without their permission.
- Send fake SOS alerts or false information.
- Try to break, overload or get around Beacon's security, or access accounts or data that aren't yours.
- Use bots or scripts to sign up, post reviews or send requests.
6. Reviews
- Reviews must be your own honest experience of Beacon.
- No links, ads, contact details, number plates, hate, threats or anything illegal.
- Your review is public. You can edit or delete it at any time.
- We may hide reviews that break these rules. We don't edit what reviews say, and we don't remove reviews just because they're negative.
- By posting, you let us show your review on Beacon's website and social media, with the name you chose to show.
7. Beacon's name and content
The Beacon name, logo, app and website belong to Beacon. You may not copy them or use them to suggest you're part of Beacon without our written permission. What you write (like reviews) stays yours.
8. Ending your account
You can stop using Beacon and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people at risk. When it's safe to do so, we'll tell you why.
9. Our responsibility
We work hard to keep Beacon reliable and secure, but we can't promise it will always work without interruptions or errors. To the extent the law allows, Beacon is not responsible for losses caused by things outside our control, such as a phone, network, GPS or messaging app failing. Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that can't be limited by law, including for our own gross negligence.
10. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If something goes wrong, contact us first and we'll try to sort it out. If we can't, the courts of India will decide.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Beacon grows. We'll change the date at the top, and tell you before important changes apply. If you keep using Beacon after that, you accept the new terms.
